After rebooting with minimum power setting, CPU frequency will stay at minimum.

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • After rebooting with minimum power setting, CPU frequency will stay at minimum.
  • If the system is booted with minimum power settings and a CPU stress test is started when the system is up and running, the CPU frequency will stay at minimum value as expected. But, when the system is rebooted and after it is up again, a change of the power settings via system management won't be reflected in the system behaviour. It will stay at minimum frequency.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.5
