Is there a maximum size allowed for Etcd on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform?

Resolution

At the time when this is being documented, this limit is 8 GiB.

Root Cause

If the size of Etcd grows too much, the master nodes hosting it will suffer performance issues due to the increase of their memory consumption and/or CPU saturation.
