Why is my VMware guest taking so long to boot?
Issue
- VMware guest seems to hang onboot
- seeing the following messages on the console and/or in /var/log/messages:
tpvmlpd[4777]: device type not supported tpvmlpd[4833]: device type not supported tpvmlpd[4835]: device type not supported tpvmlpd[3495]: aborting
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (All versions)
- VMware guest
