Graceful shutdown of Virtual Machines from worker nodes in OpenShift 4
Issue
- The OpenShift control plane was lost, how to gracefully shutdown Virtual Machines from OpenShift Virtualization before shutting down the worker nodes?
- Shutting down Virtual Machines from their own OS automatically restart the Virtual Machines.
- Virtual Machines are shut down hard instead of gracefully if a worker node is rebooted or shut down manually.
- QEMU process receives
SIGTERMsignal when thevirt-launcherpod scope is being stopped on shutdown/reboot.
Environment
- Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP)
