Does virt-install support virtio network arguments for RHEL5 KVM guests?

Issue

  • The virt-install command doesn't seem to allow a user to set virtio as a network model type when configuring VMs. The system does indeed support virtio as a model type, and can be set through the virsh edit commands.
  • How can I get a RHEL5 guests to use virtio drivers during installation through virt-install?

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 running a RHEL 5.4 or higher KVM Guest
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 running a RHEL 5.4 or higher KVM Guest
