Find out more about how Red Hat® Hyperconverged Infrastructure can lower costs, simplify operations, and improve efficiency.

Red Hat HYPERCONVERGED INFRASTRUCTURE for virtualization

Red Hat Hyperconverged Infrastructure (RHHI) for Virtualization integrates Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) and Red Hat Gluster Storage (RHGS). RHHI for Virtualization provides open-source, centrally administered, and cost-effective integrated compute and storage in a compact footprint for remote sites.

Features

Central Virtual Resource Management

RHV Manager is a secure, web-based tool that provides central management for compute, network, and storage resources.

Consolidate Resources

By using the same server hardware as both the hypervisor (host) and controller (storage), RHHI reduces capital expenditures, operation overhead, and deployment time.

Optimize Storage Volumes

Replicated volumes provide high availability and high reliability for critical workloads. Arbitrated replicated volumes provide the consistency of three-way replication with less disk space.

Day Two Operations

Scalability (up to twelve nodes), fencing, geo-replication, and encryption enhance remote-office and edge-computing needs.

Installation takes about 30-45 minutes.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Install operating systems.

    • Install an operating system on each physical machine that will act as a hyperconverged host.
    • (Optional) Install an operating system on each physical or virtual machine that will act as an Network-Bound Disk Encryption(NBDE) key server.
  2. 2

    Configure authentication between hyperconverged hosts.

Configure key-based SSH authentication without a password to enable automated configuration of the hosts.

  3. 3

    (Optional) Configure disk encryption.

    1. Configure NBDE key servers.
    2. Configure hyperconverged hosts as NBDE clients.
  4. 4

    Configure the hyperconverged cluster.

    1. Configure Red Hat Gluster Storage for Hosted Engine using the Web Console.
    2. Deploy the Hosted Engine using the Web Console.
    3. Configure the logical network for gluster traffic.
