On August 31, 2022, Red Hat Virtualization enters the Maintenance Support Phase

Updated -

As noted in the Red Hat Virtualization Lifecycle, on August 31, 2022, Red Hat Virtualization enters the Maintenance Support Phase. The Maintenance Support Phase runs until August 31, 2024, followed by the Extended Life Phase, which runs until August 31, 2026.

During the Maintenance Support Phase, Red Hat will provide ongoing technical support, security fixes (in accordance with Red Hat policy), and selected high-priority bug fixes at Red Hat’s discretion. No new features are targeted to the Red Hat Virtualization product from this point onward.

Red Hat will provide ongoing technical support for your existing RHV installations throughout the subscription / lifecycle validity periods.

Moving forward

For larger deployments, we recommend moving these workloads to OpenShift Virtualization with the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization. For smaller deployments, you can move existing RHV environments to the RHEL Standalone Hypervisor. See the RHEL documentation for details.

Let’s connect

As you work through this transition, Red Hat is here to help you explore potential options and opportunities aligned with your forward-looking operational and business goals. Please reach out to your Account Team for questions or additional information. We look forward to connecting with you.
