MRG Realtime & RHEL for Real Time 7 Life Cycles extended to 30-Nov-2020

Summary

MRG Realtime (for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Real Time 7 life cycles will be extended to 30 November 2020. During this period, only Critical Security errata advisories (RHSAs) and Urgent Priority Bug Fix errata advisories (RHBAs) may be released if and when they become available.

This notification applies only to customers with active Subscriptions to MRG Realtime (for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Real Time 7.

Details

In order to provide a smooth transition from MRG Realtime (for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6) to Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Real Time 7 or later, Red Hat is extending the life cycles for both products to coincide with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 retirement date of 30 November 2020.
After that date, the scope of support for MRG Realtime (for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Real Time 7 will be subject to Red Hat’s policy for “non-current minor release” as described here:

Note that the extension of the MRG Realtime (for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6) life cycle to November 2020 applies only to MRG Realtime and not to the MRG Messaging and Grid products.
