Introducing JBoss EAP continuous delivery

Updated -

A new JBoss Enterprise Application Platform continuous delivery stream now provides rapid incremental releases of new JBoss EAP capabilities every 3 to 4 months in the cloud. The releases are available to users for early testing of new JBoss EAP features. Aggregates of 3 or 4 JBoss EAP continuous delivery releases will be delivered as traditional JBoss EAP GA releases.

Releases in the new delivery stream, also referred to as JBoss EAP CD releases, are available only in OpenShift image format and in the Red Hat Container Catalog. This is a containerized image of JBoss EAP that is designed for use with OpenShift. The traditional JBoss EAP distribution methods, such as the ZIP file and RPMs, are not available for the JBoss EAP CD releases.

The delivery stream focuses on frequent releases of JBoss EAP for use with:

  • Red Hat OpenShift Online
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated
  • Red Hat Container Development Kit (not yet available; planned for a future release)

The JBoss EAP CD 12 release was the first release in the JBoss EAP continuous delivery stream. For information about the latest JBoss EAP CD release, see the JBoss EAP CD documentation page.

IMPORTANT
JBoss EAP CD releases delivered before the JBoss EAP 7.2 GA release are Technology Preview only.
Technology Preview features are not supported with Red Hat production service level agreements (SLAs), might not be functionally complete, and Red Hat does not recommend to use them for production. These features provide early access to upcoming product features, enabling customers to test functionality and provide feedback during the development process.
